The Choir follow the RSCM training scheme for adults and young people.
Music at St. Philip, Cosham
Music is an essential part of our worshipping at St. Philips.
Debbie Mitchell, who has been Musical Director since January 2001, has lead us in our music.
Sadly, due to personal commitments, she has resigned as Musical Director
We have an able 4-part choir, and a music group.
The choir is RSCM affiliated, and leads the worship on Sunday mornings, and for other services. Choir practice takes place in church on Thursday nights between
7pm and 8pm.
The music group, plays for big services, and once a month for Sunday worship, where they combine with the choir. Rehearsals are arranged when appropriate.
We enjoy combining with the musicians from St Peter and Paul, Wymering for some of our services.
We have a lovely Harrison and Harrison 2 manual organ, and this is kept in good repair.
We hold many concerts in church, and it is a lovely building in which to sing and play. A good, tuned, grand piano is available in church.
We are building musical links with Redwood Park School and Highbury College.
