Friends of St.Philip's
Sadly, as we have not had many visitors on our open days on the first Saturday of each month, we have decided that for the time being we shall not regularly open on these days.
However, we be more than pleased to open the church at other times if you wish to visit. Please make contact with one of the church Wardens who will arrange a convenient time for you to visit
St.Philip’s like all churches requires constant maintenance and over the last eighteen months alone we have had to provide disabled access toilets and also undertake a complete electrical rewiring of the church and hall. We have spent
over £50,000 in carrying out this essential work and whilst we were able to obtain some grant assistance, the greater part of this outlay has had to be raised by our own congregation.
Looking to the future, we anticipate having to raise a further £50,000 in order to replace part of our seventy year old heating system and to carry out urgent repairs to our Harrison organ.
