House for Duty post for Cosham.

It is a great joy to welcome the Reverend Valerie Howes to our team.  She was licensed on Sunday, 3rd February at a Candlemas Service in St Philip’s Church;  she will live in St Philip’s Vicarage, and will minister across the two parishes of St Philip, Cosham and St Peter & Paul, Wymering, as we work to bring our two parishes together in ways which will benefit us all.

Val brings a great deal of experience with her, having been a Reader for some 20 years, not to mention wife to the Reverend David Howes for even longer, in parishes ranging from The Elephant and Castle to Meonstoke…with all sorts in between.  We look forward to working with her as we seek to find new and (hopefully!) exciting ways of using our buildings to the benefit of our local communities.

These banners were painted by the children attending a workshop at St Philip's. The workshop focused on God's love to us. The children took part in puppet making, music, art and flower arranging activities focused on this theme. The activities contributed to the worship at the end of the session. The banners were designed by a member of the congregation.
